Smoke Signals
by boyonk
Smoke Signals lets campfire smoke take colours from a wool block placed beneath the fire, so messages can be sent visually across long distances.
What it does
Placing a wool block under a lit campfire tints the smoke that rises from it, and the colour follows the wool. Players can use these coloured plumes as a playful signal to friends who can see the fire, which turns a plain chat into something visible from far away. A configuration option also lets the block generate particles from the campfire.
The mod runs on the Fabric loader and needs Fabric API. It is client-side only, so a server does not need it and friends can join a server without installing anything, but each player who wants to see the coloured smoke has to run it. Files are published for 28 release versions, 1.17.1 – 1.21.11, and the latest Fabric file targets 1.21.11. The code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved, and public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.
