Smartbuild

Smartbuild lets a player place lines, columns, walls and floors with a mouse cursor, filling an area with the same block in one action.
What it does
Instead of clicking once per block to build identical parts, a player sets a first block and then a second block on the far side, and the area between them is filled with the chosen block in the same position. Smartbuild covers straight lines, columns, walls and floors, with the size set by the cursor. A mode switch changes how the range responds to block interaction, and a fourth mode is available in the newest builds.
Pressing one key, by default the right Shift key, starts the building tool. The mode, range and other behavior are set in a configuration file. A 3D open box shape is only available starting with Smart Build Lib 2.2.0, which is a required dependency alongside the mod itself. Smartbuild is server-side only, so players join a server running it without installing anything, and the mod is released under the MIT License but is not open source. Files exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 8 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.2.

Line and column placement
Blocks can be placed as straight lines or vertical columns, with the length chosen by moving the cursor.
Wall and floor filling
A set of blocks can be spread over a flat or upright area, so walls and floors are built in one action.
Two-point area selection
The first block sets one corner, the second block sets the opposite corner, and the space between is filled.
Configurable hotkey and modes
The activation key, default right Shift, and the selection modes can be changed in the configuration file.

Cursors Extended is a client-side only option under the MIT License that also targets Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for 1.20.1 – 26.3. Easy Building is also client-side only and MIT licensed, for Fabric and NeoForge across 1.20.1 – 26.1.2. Construction Wand - KOTS runs on client and server for Forge and NeoForge, which differs from Smartbuild's server-side environment.
