Create: Guardian-shooter

by ModsOverlord

Create: Guardian-shooter adds an automatic targeting system for Create cannons, so mounted guns can track and fire at targets without manual aiming.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT License1.21.1

What it does

A controller block is placed on an existing physical structure, such as a cannon mount, and its UI is opened to set the targeting. Once the system is activated, the cannons detect and track targets within range, rotate to aim and fire on both horizontal and vertical axes, with shooting actions handled by the controller. Cannon attacks can be restricted to chosen target types, and friendly fire can be prevented by excluding specific players from targeting.

The mod uses several functional blocks around the control unit, and a controller item input feeds the autocannons with ammunition. Later updates added a cartridge collector and a Machine Soul block that lets control structures be operated through redstone links. The settings are synchronized between client and server, so the behavior matches on both sides. The mod is built for automated base defense and needs no complex redstone.

The mod requires NeoForge and runs for 1.21.1 only, with the latest file at 1.0.21, released 2026-07-10. It needs the client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Automatic cannon targeting

Mounted cannons detect and track targets within their range without the player aiming each shot.

  2. Configurable targeting filters

Targeting behavior and activation conditions can be set, so the cannons fire only at the chosen targets.

  3. Friendly fire prevention

Specific players can be excluded from targeting, keeping allied players out of the line of fire.

  4. Machine Soul control

A Machine Soul block lets control structures be operated through redstone links, added in a later update.
