SmartBrainLib
by Tslat
Brain-driven mobs gain a usable framework from SmartBrainLib, a library that rebuilds the vanilla brain system for entity AI on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.
What it does
The library replaces most of the vanilla brain functions with high-efficiency code, aiming to remove the inefficiencies in the brain system. Developers can register sensors, memory types and behaviours without working out which memory modules an entity needs, and behaviours can be added, removed or changed on an existing entity while the game runs.
Behaviours are built on an extensible class that supports callbacks, predication and cooldowns. The library also adds extra sensors, behaviours and memory types usable by any entity. Fabric API is required. It is server-side only and open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, published for 1.16.5 – 26.3 and 28 release versions across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Forty other mods require it, including Mobs of Mythology, Occultism, Dark Waters, Enchanted: Witchcraft and CorndumGuardianReborn.
Key features
Simplified memory registration
Memory modules are handled automatically, so entity developers do not need to register each one by hand.
Dynamic sensors
Sensors can be configured and handled at runtime, allowing more advanced detection logic.
Extensible behaviours
Built-in behaviours can be used directly, or new ones created from a base class with callbacks, predication and cooldowns.
Runtime behaviour editing
Behaviours can be added, removed or modified dynamically on an entity that already exists.
Brain interface utility
An interface lets non-SBL entities have brain content added or removed.

Use cases
Complex mob AI
Mod authors building mobs with layered interactions can use the brain system without the vanilla implementation's complexity.
Experimenting with brain AI
Developers who want to test brain-based behaviour rather than the goal system can use the library's ready-made parts.
Who it’s for: Mod developers who build mobs and want a configurable brain system. Server owners running mods that depend on it need it installed on the server only.

What the author says
A brain library for Minecraft, making the brain system easier to use and manage. The brain system in Minecraft is an almost cryptic new entity AI system that Mojang introduced to handle more complex mobs, and allow for more advanced entity handling.
