Sleep Tight
Sleep Tight reworks the vanilla sleeping system, adding hammocks, sleeping bags, bedbugs, nightmares and dream essence to beds that players use each night.
What it does
Sleep Tight changes how sleeping works from the early game onward. Early on, sleeping off the night is not always the obvious choice, and a player who keeps one home bed is rewarded over one who places a new bed every night. Late in the game, the mod adds ways to sleep at once without setting a spawn point and without the penalties attached to doing so. Rest is also possible during the day, and sleep brings risks such as nightmares, sleep encounters and bedbugs.
The mod is built around Moonlight Lib, which must be installed alongside it on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. Sleep Tight runs on client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. Files cover 1.19.1 – 26.1.2 across nine release versions, with the latest Fabric and NeoForge builds for 26.1.2 and the latest Forge build for 1.20.1. The code is covered by All rights reserved, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Hammocks and sleeping bags
Beds, hammocks and sleeping bags each get their own sleep rules, and every option can be switched on or off per bed type.
Nightmares and bedbugs
Sleep can bring nightmares, sleep encounters and bedbugs that players must check for when they wake up.
Dream essence item
A late game item crafted from echo shards and phantom membrane gives players a bed-like option that leaves the spawn point unchanged.
Daytime rest
Players can rest during the day, widening when the sleep system can be used.
Regeneration from shared sleep
When a companion mod for shared health is installed, sleeping beside another player grants both a regeneration effect.

Use cases
Home bed progression
Players who keep one home bed rather than placing a new one each night get the intended reward of the rebalanced system.
Adventure and survival pacing
Servers wanting slower early progression can keep the difficulty features on, while late game sleep stays close to vanilla.
Who it’s for: Survival players and server owners who want sleeping to carry more risk and reward, and players who want hammocks and sleeping bags with configurable difficulty.
How it compares
Sleeping Bags is a Fabric and NeoForge mod for 26.1 – 26.2 that also runs on client and server, under All rights reserved. BedTweaks is a Fabric mod for 1.21 that is server-side only and open source under the MIT License, so it does not change the client. Sleep Tight, by contrast, covers the whole sleep overhaul and needs both sides to run it.

What the author says
Sleep Tight is a very comprehensive rebalance and overhaul of the Minecraft sleeping system. Overall sleeping should feel more rewarding and balanced while still being fun and engaging at the same time with its new encounters mechanics. The mod late game should feel like vanilla but with added benefits
