Signfinder
by Hyouka
Signfinder helps players find signs in their world that match a search pattern, highlighting the matches on screen.
What it does
Signfinder searches the text on signs and highlights the ones that match a configurable set of keywords or regular expressions. Presets cover common search patterns, and the matches can be listed with pagination and sorted by distance from the player. Matching signs are highlighted with an outline in colors the player can change, so they stay visible through walls, which is useful in large builds and crowded areas.
The mod is built for multiplayer worlds where many shops and stalls use signs, since it helps locate a sign among numerous others. It supports Chinese, English and Russian, and it can remove signs that are approaching the player from the results. Search results are saved locally, so a previous search can be reopened later. Signfinder is client-side only, so a server does not need it, and it is published for Fabric only, across 15 release versions, 1.21 – 26.2, under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only. The code is open source.

How it compares
Sign Searcher Updated is client-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for Fabric on 1.20.1 – 1.20.4, so it covers older versions than Signfinder. Live Sign is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only and runs on Fabric and NeoForge across 1.21.1 – 26.1.2, a wider loader set. Clickable Signs is server-side only, so players do not install it, and it covers 1.21.11 – 26.2 on Fabric.
