ShulkerSorter
ShulkerSorter is a Fabric and NeoForge storage mod that sorts loose items into shulker boxes by category when a single key is pressed.
What it does
Pressing the sort key moves items from the inventory into shulker boxes grouped by category, with eleven categories covering items such as redstone parts, vehicles, plants, drops from mobs, building pieces, tools, food and ores. Each box is labeled once it holds a category, and boxes already labeled for a category keep their dominant type when items are sorted again.
Shift+J undoes the last sort and restores the inventory. Boxes with a LOCKED name are skipped, and loose items with a KEEP name stay in the inventory. Categories can be edited in the in-game config screen or in shulkersorter.toml, where they can be added, removed, reordered or disabled, and custom item patterns can be defined. The mod works in singleplayer, on multiplayer servers and in creative, and it runs only when the sort key is pressed.
The mod requires Architectury API, Mod Menu and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL). It is published for 1.21 – 26.3 across 17 release versions, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. The code is open source under the MIT License, and public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.
Key features
One-key category sorting
A single keypress sorts the inventory into shulker boxes, with each category going to its own box.
Stack merging
Partial stacks of the same item are combined before distribution, so boxes fill with fewer gaps.
Category affinity
Boxes keep their dominant category on later sorts, so the layout stays stable as items change.
Sort undo
Shift+J restores the inventory to its state before the last sort, which protects against a mistake.
Locked and kept items
Boxes with a LOCKED name and items with a KEEP name are left out of sorting.
Configurable categories
Categories and custom item patterns can be changed in the config screen or the TOML file.
