Right Proper GUI Scale
by RealVen
Right Proper GUI Scale replaces the stock GUI scale control in Minecraft 1.7.10 with a slider that behaves the way the setting was meant to, adjustable from the options menu or a command.
What it does
The mod changes how the GUI scale setting works in Minecraft 1.7.10. Its slider follows the intended scale behavior, and config options set the limits and step size the slider uses. A chat command offers a quicker route to changing the GUI scale during play without opening the options screens.
The mod is built with Forge Mixin, so it hooks into the game code directly rather than replacing large parts of it. It requires FalsePatternLib, which the author recommends for debugging mixins, and UniMixins, which supplies the mixin support. Both must be installed next to Right Proper GUI Scale for it to start.
Right Proper GUI Scale is a client-side only mod, so only the player's client needs it and servers run without it. It is released for Forge on Minecraft 1.7.10 under the MIT License, and the code is open source.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Players of Minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge who want more control over the GUI scale. Because it runs only on the client, it can be added to any Forge 1.7.10 setup without server changes.
How it compares
Optiscale is a Forge and NeoForge mod for 1.18.1 – 1.21.1 and is not open source, so it covers a different version range. TipTheScales is also open source and client-only, and it is published for 1.7.10 – 26.3 across Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, which overlaps with this mod's version.
