What it does

I18nUpdateMod fetches, merges and applies the Simplified Chinese language pack maintained by the CFPAOrg team, which translates text in a number of other mods. The pack is selected by game version, and the mod converts it where needed. Language files changed to JSON format in 1.13, so a pack built for 1.12.2 cannot be used on 1.13 and later, and the reverse also holds. The mod handles this conversion itself.

Installation means placing the mod's jar file in the mods folder and nothing else. The same jar works across the supported Java versions, from 8 through 21, and no version isolation is needed. The project is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only, and snapshot builds are published.

Does I18nUpdateMod need Fabric API on Fabric?

No required dependency is listed for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Placing the jar in the mods folder on its own is the whole setup.

Can one jar be used across game versions?

The mod supports a wide span of versions and selects the language pack for each one. A language pack built for 1.12.2 cannot be used on 1.13 and later.
