rescale aspect ratio

by gsd

Rescale Aspect Ratio changes the in-game aspect ratio of Minecraft without altering the resolution of the monitor, so the rendered view can be wider or narrower.

FabricNeoForgeQuiltClient-side onlyMIT License1.19 – 1.21.11

What it does

Rescale Aspect Ratio is a lightweight mod that rescales the game's rendering, keeping the display resolution unchanged. A player can simulate a different screen ratio on a desktop monitor, producing a stretched ultrawide style of view or a narrower frame. The mod is described as suited to cinematic looks, stretched PvP setups and custom viewports.

Installation needs only the client: the server does not need the mod, and servers run without it. Files target Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt for game versions 1.19 – 1.21.11, with 1.0.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest build on each loader. The code is released under the MIT License and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Independent aspect ratio

The in-game aspect ratio is set separately from the monitor resolution, so the desktop mode stays as it is.

  2. Stretched ultrawide rendering

The rendering can be stretched to produce an ultrawide-style view on a standard display.

  3. Custom viewport

A wider or narrower in-game view can be created for PvP setups or visual experiments.

  4. Lightweight design

The mod is small and designed for little overhead, and it works alongside most other client-side mods.
