Replace All Sounds
by dannytaylor
Replace All Sounds swaps the game's sound effects and music for files a player chooses, and it can randomize the replacements.
What it does
Sound replacement works by namespace. Entries that name a sound namespace replace every sound inside it, and an all:all entry replaces every sound in the game. A sound event can contain a loop, and music can be affected in the same way. Replacement can be turned off per entry with a true/false setting, which defaults to true.
The mod can randomize which sound plays in place of each original, so a single pack produces a different mix each time the game starts. It runs on the client alone: only the client needs it, and servers run without it. Fabric API is optional and only needed for the low battery sound.
The mod is published for Fabric and Quilt, with one build, 1.3.2, for 1.21.4. It is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, and its source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Namespace-based replacement
Entries that name a sound namespace replace every sound inside it, so a whole group of sounds changes at once.
Replace all sounds
An all:all entry replaces every sound in the game, including sound events that contain loops and music.
Randomized replacements
Each replaced sound can be drawn at random from the supplied files, which varies the result from one session to the next.
Per-entry toggle
A true/false setting turns replacement on or off for a single sound entry, and it defaults to true.
