Scale Randomizer

by NopoTheGamer

Scale Randomizer, a Fabric mod by NopoTheGamer, changes the size of entities in a world by assigning each mob a random scale value.

FabricCC0 1.0 UniversalOpen source1.21.10

What it does

Each mob the mod touches gets a random scale attribute at a configurable interval, so creatures appear larger or smaller than their vanilla size. The default interval is 1200 ticks, which is one minute, and the chance of a new random scale is 0.05. The random range normally runs from 0.25 up to the upper bound, and the config file can widen it to 0.0625 through 16.

Players are affected by default, and the config option shouldEffectPlayers controls whether their scale is randomized too. Shulkers, happy ghasts and ender dragons are excluded from uncapped scaling by default. Enabling the uncapScale option lifts that limit for them, and the author warns that it can cause issues. Settings live in scale-randomizer.json, and the mod requires Fabric API. Scale Randomizer is open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, which places the code in the public domain. Files exist for 1.21.10 only, the latest being 1.0.0, published 2025-12-03.

Key features

  1. Random mob scaling

Each mob receives a random scale attribute, so the same creature varies in size across a world.

  2. Adjustable interval and chance

The timing between rerolls and the chance of a new scale can both be changed in the config file.

  3. Wider scale range

The fullRangeChance option widens the default scale range out to a much broader span, from 0.0625 up to 16.

  4. Player scaling toggle

The shouldEffectPlayers option decides whether players are randomized along with mobs.

  5. Uncapped boss and special mobs

The uncapScale option removes the default limit for shulkers, happy ghasts and ender dragons.

Questions

Does Scale Randomizer need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency, so it must be installed alongside Scale Randomizer on Fabric 1.21.10.

Which game version does Scale Randomizer support?

The mod has files for 1.21.10 only. Its latest Fabric file is 1.0.0, published 2025-12-03.

Why are shulkers, happy ghasts and ender dragons not scaled by default?
