Radiocraft
Radiocraft brings amateur radio, known as ham radio, into Minecraft Java Edition with radio equipment, frequencies and modes of transmission.
What it does
Radiocraft adds an official ham radio hobby to the game, funded by the ARRL. Players use radio frequency spectrum for communication, experimentation, education and emergency assistance, and the simulation covers the hobby with accurate though simplified representations of real equipment and rules. Operators can talk to other players across the world, and even in space, using voice, text, image and data transmissions.
The mod is designed for survival play, with a challenging progression that makes radio gear satisfying to build and use. Simple Voice Chat is required, because voice transmissions run through it, and Jade is an optional dependency that adds block and entity information on screen. Radiocraft runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is published for NeoForge 1.21.1 under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, as open source with a public source code repository, issue tracker and wiki.
Key features
Radio spectrum simulation
Players tune equipment to frequencies and follow band rules that mirror real amateur radio practice.
Voice, text, image and data
Transmissions can carry speech, written messages, pictures or data, each with its own mode of operation.
Long-distance contact
Operators reach other hams across the world, and even in space, through the radio network.
Educational ham radio
The mechanics stay close to the real hobby, so the mod teaches how amateur radio works in a simplified form.
