PvP Flag

by rkkm

PvP Flag lets each player turn player-versus-player combat on or off, and a skull marks players who have it enabled.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.19.2 – 1.21.1

What it does

Players can switch PvP on or off for themselves. A player with the flag enabled is marked with a skull, and PvP works between flagged players in the usual way. Players with the flag disabled take damage from other players, so the flag applies in every other case as well. The setting is kept per world, so a local save can use its own choices, and the mod is intended for hosting local saves and multiplayer servers alike.

The mod runs on both client and server, so the server and every player need it. It requires Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin, Forge Config API Port, Kotlin for Forge and bad packets, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Builds cover 1.19.2 – 1.21.1 across Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.

Key features

  1. Per-player PvP flag

Each player can enable or disable PvP, and the state is shown to others with a skull marker.

  2. Per-world settings

The flag behaviour is stored for each world, including local saves checked from their own directory.

  3. Damage for disabled players

Players with PvP disabled still take damage from other players, as the author text describes.

What the author says

Skull marks PvP flag enabled. People with PvP flag disabled (no skull) can not damage you as long as you don't have it enabled as well. In all other cases PvP works.
