by Lykrast

Prodigy Tech is a Forge technology mod for 1.12.2 whose machines run on Hot Air, an unusual power source built on unusual materials.

What it does

Power in Prodigy Tech comes from a Hot Air system rather than the energy formats common in other tech mods, so machines are built and fed around that source. The mod follows the spirit of RotaryCraft and IndustrialCraft while mixing them into its own progression. Patchouli is required, and its in-game book serves as the guide to the whole mod, including a getting started entry that explains the basics of crafting and machines.

Progress runs along a defined tech tree, with advancements that open materials and machines one entry at a time. Worldgen adds visible marks across the world, and several decorative blocks are included. CraftTweaker support lets pack makers adjust recipes. The mod runs on client and server, so both sides need it, and it is open source under the MIT License. Files are published only for 1.12.2.

Key features

  1. Hot Air power system

Machines draw on a unique power system based on Hot Air instead of standard energy units.

  2. Advancement-based tech tree

Advancements form a defined tech tree that guides players from one stage of progress to the next.

  3. Patchouli guide book

An in-game book, built with Patchouli, walks players through materials, machines and systems.

  4. Worldgen and decoration

Visible marks are generated in the world, and several decorative blocks are added for building.

  5. CraftTweaker support

Recipes can be changed through CraftTweaker scripts, so modpack makers can rebalance progression.
