With Preventer installed, players are stopped from stripping logs, making dirt paths or tilling farmland, and from eating cake by accident.

What it does

Preventer blocks four everyday actions that often happen by mistake: stripping logs with an axe, creating path blocks from grass or dirt with a shovel, turning dirt into farmland with a hoe, and eating cake. Each action is stopped on its own, so a player who wants to do one of them still can, once the mod is removed.

The mod is a client mod. Only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it. It is published for Fabric only, and the 2.0.0-26.3 build covers 1.18 – 26.3 across 28 release versions. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Log stripping blocked

    Right-clicking a log with an axe no longer strips it, which avoids losing bark or wood by accident.

  2. Path creation blocked

    Shovels no longer turn grass or dirt into path blocks when used on the ground.

  3. Farmland creation blocked

    Hoes no longer till dirt into farmland, so planted areas are not converted by mistake.

  4. Cake eating blocked

    Players cannot eat slices from a cake, which prevents an accidental click from wasting it.
