Plaify

by GolkaProd

Plaify lets players play their own music files in the game, organized into playlists that Minecraft reads from a folder on the computer.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21.4 – 1.21.5

What it does

Players place audio files in a music folder inside the game directory, and each folder they create there becomes a playlist that appears in Minecraft. The first launch with the mod installed is needed so the folders can be set up. Once the files are in place, the playlists can be chosen from inside the game and played alongside the regular soundtrack.

The mod only runs on the client, so a player can install it alone and join servers without adding anything. It targets Fabric and needs no other mod. Files are published for 1.21.4 and 1.21.5, with 1.0.1 for 1.21.5 as the latest build, released under the MIT License. The project is not open source.

Setting it up takes a few steps: launch Minecraft once with the mod, open the game folder, open the Music folder, create a folder named after the playlist, then place the music files in it. The playlists appear after the next launch, and the process is meant to get quicker as more playlists are added.

Key features

  1. Custom music playback

Players can play their own audio files in the game instead of only the built-in tracks.

  2. Playlists from folders

Each folder created inside the Music directory becomes a named playlist shown in Minecraft.

  3. Folder-based setup

Music is added by placing files in the game's music folders, with no import screen needed.

  4. Playlist naming

The folder name is used as the playlist name, so the name chosen on disk is the name the player sees.

Use cases

Personal soundtrack

A player who prefers a particular set of tracks can keep them in a playlist and play it during sessions.

Themed playlists

Separate folders let a player group tracks by mood or activity and switch between them in the game.

Who it’s for: Players who want to use their own music in Minecraft on the client, without running any server-side component.
