Particle Expansion
by 01st
Particle Expansion adds particle effects to ordinary moments in play, such as breath in cold biomes, sweat in hot ones, and smoke from a burning player.
What it does
Cold biomes at height above 150 release mist particles from the player's mouth, and underwater the player breathes out bubbles. Hot biomes make the player sweat. Some blocks leave particles at the player's feet, and a player who catches fire trails white smoke after being put out with water. A Blood Health indicator also appears as a visual cue.
Mobs get their own effects: a creeper explosion produces smoke with purple and white particles when an End Crystal is involved, angry Iron Golems, Polar Bears, Guardians and villagers show anger particles, a Snow Golem or Stray leaves snow, a Wither Skeleton leaves black dust, a Cave Spider emits green dust that marks poison, and a Strider drips lava under itself. Mobs living in water leave water drips, except turtles and frogs.
Experimental features can be tested with the commands pe:test 5 and removed with pe:remove 5. The mod runs on the server, and only the client needs no extra install for the particles to show. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the data pack form is also available. Builds cover 1.20.3 – 1.21.8, and the code is not open source; the mod is released under All rights reserved.
