Parachymistry is an alchemy mod for Fabric and NeoForge that focuses on consumables, with elemental vials and tinctures crafted at an alchymy table.

What it does

Players collect elemental vials by using empty vials on certain mobs, and the act of collecting hurts the mob. Each vial holds an element tied to particular creatures, such as breezes, blazes, sniffers, guardians and shulkers. Vials can be thrown for effects that differ by element.

Tinctures and concoctions are brewed at the alchymy table. Their recipes are built from components, in a way similar to suspicious stew, with each component adding its own effect. Empty vials are combined with ingredients from a fixed list, including nether wart, gunpowder, golden apple, armadillo scute, mushrooms, ender eye, sculk sensor and rabbit's foot. The author notes that the mod is still in an early stage and that some bugs remain.

Parachymistry requires Fabric API, Forgified Fabric API and Sinytra Connector. Its files are published for Fabric and NeoForge, with the 1.0.2.5 build covering 1.21.1 only, and the code is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, so it is open source. Both the server and every player need the mod, since it runs on both sides.

Key features

  1. Elemental vials

Empty vials picked up from mobs turn into elemental vials that can be thrown at other entities.

  2. Alchymy table

The table crafts tinctures and concoctions from a combination of ingredients and components.

  3. Component-based recipes

Each concoction is assembled from parts, so ingredient combinations produce distinct effects.

  4. Wide ingredient list

Vials and tinctures take gunpowder, golden apples, ender eyes and other common items as inputs.
