Overloaded Armor Bar
by Tfarcenim
Overloaded Armor Bar changes the armor bar on the client so that armor values above 20 are shown as readable numbers and icons instead of being cut off.
What it does
Without the mod, the vanilla armor display stops at 20 icons, and the attribute cap means heavier armor such as diamond armor boosted by an attribute modifier can reach 30 armor points that the bar cannot show. Overloaded Armor Bar draws the bar for the armor the player is wearing, so values beyond 20 remain visible and the player can see how far above the cap the total goes.
Colored icons mark how many full sets of the bar are filled. The icon colors can be set in the config, so a player can choose a palette that fits their resource pack or readability needs. Empty armor icons can be hidden, which leaves only the part of the bar that carries information.
The mod is client-side only, so only the client needs it; servers and other players do not have to install it. It is published for NeoForge 1.21 as one file, neoforge-1.21-3, released on 2024-12-13, and the code is open source under the Apache License 2.0. It has no required dependencies.
Key features
Armor above 20
Armor values over 20 appear on the bar as numbers rather than being clipped at the vanilla display limit.
Colored overflow icons
Icons change color as the armor total passes successive multiples of 20, and the colors are configurable.
Hidden empty icons
Empty armor icons can be hidden, so the bar shows only the armor the player currently wears.
Armor attribute display
The armor value is drawn for whatever the player is wearing, including armor that raises the attribute beyond the vanilla cap.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Players on NeoForge 1.21 who use armor or modifiers that push the armor total past the vanilla display limit, and who want to read that total directly on the HUD.
How it compares
Detail Armor Bar Reconstructed is client-side only, open source under the MIT License, and covers Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21 – 26.3, so it reaches more loaders and game versions than Overloaded Armor Bar. Armor Ideas needs both the client and the server to run, is released under the MIT License and supports only 1.21.1. Anti Armor is server required with client optional, is not open source, and is published for 1.21.4.

What the author says
This mod allows armor values over 20 to be displayed as different colored (configurable) icons depending on how many times you fill the bar. However, without AttributeFix, the armor display will cap out at 30 Armor, or 1.5x diamond armor due to the vanilla armor attribute cap.
