Enchanted Book Redesign
by Tfarcenim
Enchanted Book Redesign recolors enchanted books in the inventory and in the world, so a book's glint and ribbon color show which kind of item its enchantments apply to.
What it does
Each enchanted book is tinted according to the enchantments it holds. A book whose enchantments apply to armor, swords, tridents, bows, crossbows, fishing rods or tools takes the color assigned to that category, and the color is tied to the item type each enchantment goes on. Books with enchantments outside those groups keep a default appearance. Newly added enchantment groups can be assigned colors through a tag.
The book texture also reflects the enchantment level, so a higher level looks different from a lower one. When a book holds several enchantments, the color comes from the enchantment with the highest level, with the other colors blended in. Cursed enchantments are shown with their own treatment so they are simple to spot. The mod runs on the client alone and uses vanilla servers without any change.
Key features
Color by category
Enchanted books take a glint and ribbon color that matches the item types their enchantments apply to.
Level-based textures
The book texture changes with the enchantment level, and higher levels look visibly different from lower ones.
Combined colors
When a book has several enchantments, the highest-level enchantment takes priority and the other colors are combined into the result.
Tag-based groups
New enchantment groups can be given colors through a tag, so colors apply to groups added later.

What the author says
Ever notice how all enchanted books are the same color with no way to tell them apart or even how strong they are? This mod aims to fix that issue by changing the ribbon/glint colors to match the types of items that the enchants can go on and changing the textures of the enchanted books to reflect the level of them
