Origins: Legacy is a Fabric port of the Origins mod, kept current for newer Minecraft versions by its developer BluSpring after the original fell behind.
What it does
The project began as an unofficial port of Origins to later releases of the game. The author describes the fork as a response to the original mod's slow updates, which left it behind newer versions of Minecraft. Newer builds of Origins were reported as unstable after several heavy refactors of its codebase, and those refactors often broke Origins datapacks made for earlier releases. Keeping older datapacks and mods working was the practical goal, and the author found it easier to maintain a separate codebase than to follow upstream changes.
Fabric API is required. Cardinal Components API, Cloth Config API, Additional Entity Attributes and PlayerAbilityLib are bundled inside the mod, so they do not need separate installation. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for Fabric only, across 11 release versions 1.21.1 – 26.3, with 1.12.20+26.3 as the latest file for 26.3, released under the MIT License and open source. Origins: Legacy: Classes requires this mod.
