Ores
by dwnsdp
Ores lets players craft ore blocks from raw ore materials, such as stone with raw gold or deepslate with raw iron, through datapack recipes.
What it does
Crafting an ore block takes a raw ore item and a base block, so a player can build gold ore from stone and raw gold, or deepslate gold ore from deepslate and raw gold. The same pattern covers iron and copper, coal and deepslate coal, and emeralds and diamonds. Nether quartz ore is made from quartz and netherrack, and nether gold ore from gold nuggets and netherrack.
The mod is delivered as a datapack for the server and loads through Fabric, Forge and Quilt. Server owners can use the ore blocks as decoration or for gameplay, and they can change the recipes to suit their world. The server needs the mod, while players may add it to their own install and neither side is required to have it on a client alone. The Quilt, Fabric and Forge files cover 1.19 – 1.21. The mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
Key features
Raw ore crafting
Ore blocks are assembled from raw ore items and stone-type base blocks in the crafting grid.
Gold and iron variants
Gold and iron ore blocks have both stone and deepslate versions, each built from its own raw material.
Coal, copper and emerald recipes
Coal, copper, emerald and diamond ores each get a recipe that pairs them with the matching base block.
Nether ore recipes
Nether quartz ore and nether gold ore can be made from netherrack with quartz or gold nuggets.
Datapack decoration
Because the mod is a datapack, the ore blocks serve as decoration as well as gameplay, and recipes can be edited.

Use cases
Building with ore blocks
Builders who want ore-styled walls or floors can craft the blocks without mining them.
Server economy and progression
Server owners can make ore blocks available as a crafted resource instead of a mined one.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want crafted ore blocks, and builders who want more ore styles for decoration. Players only need the mod when the server requires it.
