Not Enough Oxygen is a Forge game mechanics mod that makes dimensions unbreathable and adds oxygen tanks worn in the Curios back slot.
What it does
Players wearing an oxygen tank in the back Curios slot can enter hermetic areas that vents keep filled with oxygen. Both the tank and the vent use liquid oxygen from Mekanism, so the mod connects to that machinery rather than replacing it. A config option makes chosen dimensions unbreathable, and the list covers planets and moons from the cosmos mods, including Mars, Venus, Europa and Neptune, plus the Starlance dimensions and Black Hole space.
The mod is intended for oxygen-system modpacks and works with Valkyrien Skies. Curios API, Mekanism and Valkyrien Skies are required dependencies, so each must be installed alongside it. It is client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. The code is open source, and source code is publicly available.
Files cover Minecraft 1.20.1 – 1.20.6 for Forge, six game versions in total. The latest Forge file is 0.9.0 for 1.20.6, released on 2025-04-12 on the beta channel, and the mod was first published on 2025-04-10.
