Players who want elytra wings on a chestplate can use MoreUpgradeTemplate-AboveTheSky, an add-on for the More Upgrade Template mod on NeoForge for 1.21.1.
What it does
A new Elytra Upgrade Smithing Template converts most chestplates into elytra chestplates, and the resulting armor keeps the flight that the vanilla elytra gives. It works with vanilla iron, diamond and netherite chestplates as well as chestplates from More Upgrade Template, such as Steel Dragon and Blue Diamond pieces, so armor sets gain flight without losing their stats. A redstone block combined with the netherite upgrade template is used to apply it at a smithing table.
Elytra variants can be switched freely through the smithing table: an iron, diamond or netherite elytra chestplate can be upgraded or downgraded, and the appearance of the wings changes with the variant. The content depends on More Upgrade Template 0.1.0 or higher, and the mod is released under the MIT License. It is not open source. Installation is on NeoForge only, with the environment set to client and server, so the server and every player need it.
