More Shield Variants
More Shield Variants gives shields in new wood types, with textures that display correctly on each shield, and it works through the More Armor Stand Variants mod.
What it does
Vanilla shields are made from planks, and the shield recipe is overridden when other mods add their own wood types. This mod keeps that conflict from breaking the variant crafting, so a shield can be made from any supported wood. Each variant has its own texture, which appears on the shield in the hand and in the inventory. Cycling through the variants follows the same pattern as the vanilla shield items.
The mod needs Cloth Config API to run, and Mod Menu is optional for its settings screen. More Shield Variants runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is published for Fabric only, across 20 release versions, and the newest file is 1.4.0 for 26.2. Builds for snapshot versions are also published. The mod is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license and is not open source, although its source code and issue tracker are public.
