Monster Origins

Monster Origins adds four origins based on monsters from folklore and games, each with its own abilities, for players on Fabric who run Origins.
What it does
Each one plays completely differently, from fragile and fast assassin styles to tanky bruisers, aerial skirmishers, aquatic supports and crowd-control roles. The Arachne origin is a carnivore-only diet that climbs surfaces at 1.65x normal climb speed and can cross and craft with cobwebs. Arachne is also immune to poison and sees dangerous creatures outlined once they are spotted.
The mod requires Fabric API, Origins and Pehkui. Pehkui shrinks the player to about 85% of normal height and width, which the origins use for their scale. It is built against Origins and Origins Minus and does not come from either of their authors. It is published for Fabric only, across 17 release versions 1.20.1 – 1.21.11, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. The license is Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0, and the code is not open source, though public links to the source exist.

Arachne spider abilities
Arachne climbs at higher speed, rappels with a double tap of space, and pulls itself upward on a strand of web.
Poison attack
Arachne's attacks poison a target for 10 seconds, and undead creatures are immune, with a 5 second cooldown.
Medusa and Harpy
Medusa and Harpy each carry their own set of abilities, documented as worked examples for further origins.
Mermaid singing
The Mermaid origin is a singer tied to deep water, one of the four origins added by the pack.
