Origins Evolutions

by goremann

Origins Evolutions adds evolved forms for some origins in Origins, reached through an orb origin recipe and advancements that pick a base origin for evolving.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

Origins Evolutions extends the Origins mod, which must be installed alongside it. Some origins gain an evolution, and one evolution is far from the starting origin, so players reach it only after progressing. The orb origin recipe is the crafting route used to obtain an origin, and advancements tie the choice of base origin to the path toward evolving.

Several food items are added as well. Because the mod is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1, it applies only to that single version. The environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it, and the code is released under the MIT License as open source.

Installation needs Origins on the same loader. Origins Evolutions is published for Fabric only, with the 0.1-1.20.1 file for 1.20.1 as the latest release, dated 2024-05-22, and the same date marks its first and last update. Public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.

Key features

  1. Evolved origins

Some origins gain an evolution, changing the form a player reaches after the base origin.

  2. Distant evolution

One evolution sits far along the progression, so it is reached only after a long path.

  3. Orb origin recipe

Crafting an orb is the recipe route that leads to an origin, and the mod adds its own variant.

  4. Food items

A set of food items is added to the game alongside the origin content.

  5. Advancement-based choice

Advancements record which base origin a player picks, which then decides the path toward evolving.
