Mob Plaques
by Fuzs
With Mob Plaques installed, a small icon line above each mob shows its health, armor, armor toughness and remaining air.
What it does
The mod draws compact status displays above mobs and other entities. Health is shown with the heart icons used by the base game, while armor, armor toughness and air supply appear as their own small plaques. Focus mode limits the display to the entity under the crosshair, and distance scaling keeps nearby plaques readable while shrinking those further away.
Plaques can be shown for hostile mobs, passive animals, bosses, players, mounts and tamed animals. Render distance, scale, position, brightness and wall visibility are adjustable, and an in-game toggle hides every plaque at once when a cleaner view is wanted. Mob Plaques is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge and needs Fabric API on Fabric, Forge Config API Port on Fabric, and Puzzles Lib on Fabric and NeoForge. Forge Config Screens is optional and adds a configuration screen.
Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy. Files cover 1.19.2 – 26.3 across 21 release versions, and the code is under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, so it is open source. Source code and an issue tracker are linked publicly.
Key features
Health plaques
Mob health appears above each entity using the familiar heart icons from the base game.
Armor and toughness
Armor and armor toughness values are displayed as plaques, so no guessing is needed in combat.
Air supply display
Remaining air is shown for mobs underwater, making it clear when a mob is about to run out of breath.
Focus mode
Plaques can be limited to the entity the player is looking at, keeping the rest of the view clear.
Distance scaling
Plaques scale with proximity, staying legible up close and shrinking farther away.

Use cases
Monster fights
Health and armor plaques show how much damage a monster can take before it falls.
Underwater exploration
Air plaques track how long a mob can stay submerged while the player explores.
Who it’s for: Players who want mob status information without opening menus, and players who manage tamed animals or mounts and want to check their condition.
How it compares
Mob Dice Attributes is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, works on Forge and NeoForge for 1.18.2 – 1.21.1, and is client and server. Mob Health Indicators runs client-side only on Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.20.4 – 1.21.10 and is not open source. Mob Plaques differs by covering armor, toughness and air alongside health, and by targeting 1.19.2 – 26.3.
