Meowdemic, a Fabric social mod, makes players meow like cats after a disease spreads through the world.

What it does

The mod centers on an illness that spreads from one player to another: anyone infected starts to meow like a cat, and infected players can pass it on to others. Cat ears are part of the effect, so affected players are visibly marked as well as audibly changed. The disease also shows up in food, so players can be exposed through what they eat.

A cure is available through crafting. The recipe uses a cotton swab made with a dog-related craft, along with some of the affected food. Players work toward the cure while the outbreak continues, which gives the mod a loop of spread and treatment.

Meowdemic requires Fabric API and runs on Fabric for 26.1.2 only. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Builds are released under the European Union Public License 1.2, and the source code and issue tracker are public. The mod was first published on 2026-05-03 and last updated on 2026-05-29, with the latest file at 1.1.10.
