Lucky Block Worlds
by Tyler_
Lucky Block Worlds replaces the usual crafting-based approach with disguised lucky blocks that are tagged onto blocks already in the world after generation.
What it does
Lucky Block Worlds adds lucky blocks to an existing world in a non-invasive way. Rather than having players craft replacement blocks, the mod tags some existing blocks after the world has generated, so a player cannot tell from appearance which blocks carry an event. Tagging uses a non-invasive method, which the author says allows custom mod compatibility. Blocks may be vanilla or modded, and any block marked breakable can receive a tag.
The mod uses a five-tier luck system ranging from very unlucky through neutral to very lucky. Each tagged block has a small, weighted chance of receiving a tag, and the weights can be changed. When a tagged block is broken, a random event is drawn from the pool for its tier. The author lists over 140 events, with the pool growing in later updates. Events and chances can be configured by tier, event and world generation tagging.
Lucky Block Worlds is a client and server mod, so both the server and every player need it. It is published for Fabric and NeoForge, with 1.0.0 as the release for 1.21.1 on each loader, released under the MIT License but not open source.
Key features
Disguised lucky blocks
Tagged blocks look like ordinary blocks, so the lucky blocks stay hidden until a player breaks one.
Tagging after generation
Blocks are tagged once the world has generated, instead of replacing blocks with crafted ones.
Five luck tiers
Events are sorted into five tiers from very unlucky to very lucky, and each tier draws from its own pool.
Configurable events
Chances per tier, event and tagging step can be changed in the config to tune the balance.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Players who want a light, randomized twist on mining in an existing world, and server owners who want shared events on a multiplayer server.
