Carpet PVP
With Carpet PVP, the fake players created by the Carpet mod behave more like real players in combat and movement.
What it does
Carpet PVP is a fork of Carpet Mod that fixes bugs in its fake player system. Fixes cover gliding while in midair, fall distance tracking used by crits and mace attacks, downward motion that was not saved in some cases, and reversed yaw and pitch in the look command. Several edge cases in fake player movement and actions were also corrected, so the fake players act more consistently with real players.
The mod also adds commands for controlling players through a datapack. It includes a toggle that allows or disallows shield stun for players, target selector support in player commands, and a rename of the spawn command to /playerspawn. The mod was made for use with a practice map and runs on a server alone. It is released under the MIT License and is open source, with source code and an issue tracker available publicly. Files target Fabric for 1.21 – 1.21.5, and the latest file is 1.21.5_1.4.0 for 1.21.5.
Key features
Gliding in midair
Gliding now works with the player jump command while the fake player is in midair.
Fall distance tracking
Fall distance updates correctly, so crit and mace behavior matches what players see on their own.
Shield stun toggle
A setting allows or disallows shield stun for players, letting server owners choose the combat rule.
Target selectors in player commands
Player commands accept target selectors, so a datapack can address several fake players at once.
Corrected look direction
The yaw and pitch of the /player look command are no longer reversed.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners and map makers running combat practice or datapack-driven minigames on Fabric who need fake players that react like real players.
How it compares
Carpet Fixes is an unofficial port for 1.21.11 that runs on client and server and is open source under the MIT License. Carpet-YBS-Addition also runs on client and server, is open source under the MIT License and covers 1.21 – 1.21.1. PvP Toggle for fabric is server-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for 1.21.4 – 1.21.7, so it does not change fake player behavior the way Carpet PVP does.
