Pirate's Doom
Pirate's Doom runs a fiery detection routine on the client that targets cracked launchers, so a pirated copy meets an unpleasant end instead of a normal start.
What it does
When the game launches, the mod checks the launcher in use and looks for signs of a cracked copy. If the launcher is judged to be a pirated one, the mod carries out its Doom response. Offline play and legitimate launchers are never targeted, so the check does not trigger for players who own the game.
The mod is a client-side utility with no dependencies, so nothing else needs to be installed beside it. It runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and its files cover 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Pirate's Doom is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. Mocha Doom, the author's Java port of Doom, is credited, and ElocinDev is credited for the original idea.
The mod is described as deleting and reporting nothing, so its effect is limited to the response on the affected client. The latest Fabric file is 2.0.1 for 1.21.1, the latest NeoForge file is 2.0.1 for 1.21.1, and the latest Forge file is 1.0.0 for 1.20.1.
Key features
Cracked launcher detection
The mod checks the launcher in use and flags launchers that appear to be cracked copies of the game.
Legitimate play is exempt
Offline play and legitimate launchers are excluded, so the detection is not triggered for players who own the game.
No deletion or reporting
The response does not delete files on the machine and does not send any report anywhere.
Doom response
When a cracked launcher is detected, the mod starts a Doom themed sequence on the client as its reply.
