Looted: Mob Drops
by GenVoxel
Looted: Mob Drops makes mobs drop loot bags from the Looted mod, with rarity set by drop weights and a data pack that adds the mechanic to other mobs.
What it does
Mobs in the world drop loot bags that come from the Looted mod, sorted into Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic bags. Common bags carry a drop weight of 100, Uncommon 25, Rare 8 and Epic 2, so the lower tiers appear far more often. Ravagers and Elder Guardians only drop Uncommon, Rare or Epic bags, with a 25% chance per kill. The Wither, the Ender Dragon and the Warden drop one to three Epic loot bags on death.
Looted is a required dependency, so it must be installed alongside this mod on Fabric. A separate Mob Drops data pack is included and makes loot bags drop from mobs that the base setup leaves out, with a few exceptions. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. It is required on the server and optional for players.
Key features
Weighted loot bag tiers
Each bag tier has its own drop weight, so Common bags appear most often and Epic bags are rare.
Restricted drops for Ravagers and Elder Guardians
These mobs only drop Uncommon, Rare or Epic bags, and each drop happens on a 25% chance.
Boss drops
The Wither, the Ender Dragon and the Warden drop one to three Epic loot bags when they die.
Data pack mob drops
A bundled data pack extends the loot bag drops to mobs that are not covered by default, with a few exceptions.

Use cases
Server loot progression
A server owner can use the drop weights to control how often players receive better bags from mob kills.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want mobs to drop loot bags on a Fabric server, and players who already run the Looted mod.
How it compares
Missing Weapons is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1 that requires both client and server, and it is released under All rights reserved. Guardian Expansion is also a Fabric mod for 1.20.1 requiring both sides, but it is open source under the MIT License. Looted: Mob Drops differs by being server required with an optional client and by covering only the mob drop behavior.
