Linear Weapons
Linear Weapons, a Fabric equipment mod for 1.21.1, adds 84 new weapons across 14 weapon classes to the vanilla combat system.
What it does
The weapons are grouped into 14 classes and cover the wooden, stone, iron, gold, diamond and netherite tiers, so the new items follow the tier progression players already know. The mod's stated goal is to keep swords and axes from being the only meaningful choices in melee combat, and its style stays close to vanilla.
Combat is tuned around a few traits named by the author: heavy single-target hits, sweeping attacks, and a balance meant to suit general survival as well as aggressive PvP. Servers that want fights to carry more risk can use the mod to make mistakes costlier. Fabric API is required, and the environment is client and server, so every player and the server need the mod installed.
Linear Weapons is released under the Apache License 2.0 and is not open source. Files are published for Fabric only, for game versions 1.21 and 1.21.1, with 1.0.1 as the latest build for 1.21.1.
Key features
84 new weapons
The mod adds 84 weapons spread across 14 unique classes, expanding the melee options beyond vanilla swords and axes.
Wooden to netherite tiers
Weapons come in every material tier, from wooden through netherite, so progression matches the rest of the game.
Heavy, single-target hits
Several weapon classes focus on strong hits against one target, suited to duels and high-risk fights.
Sweeping attacks
Other classes use sweeping strikes that hit groups, which supports crowd control in larger fights.
Vanilla-style look
The items blend with the existing Minecraft combat, keeping a vanilla-like style across every class.

Use cases
Survival progression
Players in general survival can work through the weapon tiers as they gather materials.
PvP servers
Aggressive PvP servers can use the classes that reward precise, punishing hits.
Who it’s for: Players who want more melee variety in survival or PvP, and server owners who run combat-focused worlds. Both the server and every player need Fabric API and the mod.
How it compares
Swords Expansion is a Fabric mod for 1.21.8 – 1.21.11, released under the MIT License and not open source, that runs on client and server, so its version range does not overlap with Linear Weapons. PvpTracker is a Fabric server-side only mod for 1.21 – 1.21.1 under All rights reserved, which means players join without installing anything and it adds no weapons.
