Lighter End
by OpenBagTwo
With Lighter End installed, the End dimension gains nine biomes, seven mobs, new building stones, wood types and music discs, rebuilt from the ground up as a Fabric mod.
What it does
Lighter End reworks the End dimension with new terrain, biomes and creatures, aiming to give players a reason to explore it beyond the central island. It is a continuation of the BetterEnd line by Paulevs, which stopped development in 2024. Lighter End is a ground-up rewrite built on modern design principles, and its only dependency outside Fabric API is the optional list named in the card.
Each feature was chosen to keep the mod maintainable through new Minecraft releases with minimal effort, so it is not a one-to-one recreation of BetterEnd. Several BetterEnd features were left out because they were unbalanced against vanilla, too difficult to maintain, or never worked correctly. Lighter End runs on client and server and needs Fabric API, which is required and must be installed alongside it.
Key features
Nine End biomes
Nine new biomes each carry their own ambient sounds and music, adding variety to the dimension.
Seven new mobs
Seven creatures join the End, some friendly and some hostile, with a balanced place in the dimension's gameplay.
Stone and wood materials
Six new stone building materials and five new wood types extend the blocks available for building in the End.
Armored elytra and tool tiers
Armored elytra are added, and Thallasium, Ender ore, Terminite, Aeternium and Crystalite serve as tool tiers.

Use cases
Exploring and building in the End
Players who want to go beyond the central island can find new biomes and structures there, and use the new materials to build a base.
Raiding End Cities
The new loot and equipment give players a reason to return home after a raid on an End City.
Who it’s for: Players who want more content in the End dimension, and server owners who want an End that is balanced against vanilla Minecraft.
