Leafstone

by OpenBagTwo

Leafstone changes how dripleaf blocks respond to redstone, letting players lock them in a set state rather than letting them bend freely.

FabricQuiltServer-side onlyGNU Affero General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.17 – 1.21.11

What it does

Dripleaf blocks normally bend when a player steps on them and return to flat afterward. Leafstone allows a dripleaf to be held in a chosen position by redstone. A configuration option lets redstone signals select between different dripleaf states, so a single circuit can control which way the leaves sit.

The mod is intended for building projects that need stable dripleaf shapes and for servers that want that behavior in place. Its settings can be changed in an in-game configuration screen. The mod runs on the server, so players join without installing anything. Leafstone is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only and is open source, and its license requires that modified copies keep their source code available.

Files are published for Fabric and Quilt across 29 release versions, 1.17 – 1.21.11, with snapshot builds also published. The source code and issue tracker are public, and a NeoForge port has been noted by the author.

Key features

  1. Locked dripleaf state

Redstone holds a dripleaf in the position it had when the signal arrived, instead of letting it unbend.

  2. Signal-selected states

An optional setting makes redstone signals choose between different dripleaf states.

  3. In-game configuration

Options can be changed in an in-game configuration screen, without editing files by hand.

  4. Server-side behavior

Because only the server runs the change, players connecting to it need no extra installation.

Use cases

Building projects

Builders can fix dripleaf shapes in place so decorative layouts keep their intended form.

Redstone contraptions

A dripleaf can be driven by a circuit, letting a single signal set which state the plant shows.

Who it’s for: Server owners who run survival or creative worlds and builders who use dripleaf as a design element. Players on a server that runs the mod do not need it installed.

Questions

Does Leafstone have to be installed on the client?

No. Server owners install it, and players connect with no copy of their own.

Which loaders does Leafstone support?

Files exist for Fabric and Quilt. The latest Fabric and Quilt files are 0.1.0-3-f30c1d3d-1.21.2 for 1.21.11, published on 2024-10-22.

Can the mod be redistributed in modpacks?

The GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only permits it, but modified versions must make their source code available under the same terms.

What the author says

This mod implements a feature asked for by legendary redstoner @BDoubleO100 to allow dripleaf blocks to be locked in bent positions—not just the unbent state—when getting a redstone signal—thus revolutionizing Minecraft building forever.
