With Legacy4J installed, players get a Java Edition build that recreates the feel of the 4J Studios Legacy Console Edition, from controller support to menus and visuals.

What it does

The mod aims to remake the Legacy Console Edition experience as closely as possible on current Java Edition versions. Accurate controller support, control tooltips, a crafting menu, creative flight, a gamma shader, HUD scaling and a reworked GUI are part of the set, alongside the exclusive features the console edition had.

Quality-of-life additions include a resource album screen, pack handling across worlds, saved world setups for new games, an integrated Mods screen and options for terrain fog. Legacy4J requires Fabric API and Factory API, and it is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Both sides must run it, so the server and every player need the mod. Files cover 1.20 – 26.1.2, with 26.1.2-1.9.1 as the latest build, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
