Labyrinth
by Maya
Labyrinth lets a server add custom weapons, tools and ores, crafted at a forge built by placing an anvil on a metal block.
What it does
Labyrinth adds several weapons and tools with custom recipes, along with a set of ore types and a few utility items. Crafting runs through a forging system: a forge is built by placing an anvil on an Iron, Gold, Diamond or Netherite block, and the forge shows a preview of the structure while it is being built. Tools take the material of the block placed below the anvil.
Labyrinth is a server-side mod, so only the server needs it and players join without installing anything. Installation needs Fabric API and NexusFrame, and the mod uses Polymer, which is bundled inside it. Custom textures need a Polymer resource pack to be generated and added to the client.
Files are published for Fabric and Quilt, with 1.0.0 as the latest file for 1.20.1, released on 2023-07-10. The code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Custom weapons and tools
Several weapons and tools are added, each with its own custom recipe.
Forge crafting
A forge is formed by placing an anvil on a metal block, and it previews the build before it is finished.
Material from the base block

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who want custom weapons and a forging system without requiring any client-side install. Players on such a server need nothing beyond joining it.
How it compares
Anvils Resounded is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1 that is client-side only, so it works on the client and not the server, and it is released under the MIT License. Combat Crafts is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1 that runs on client and server and is open source under the MIT License. Labyrinth is server-side only and is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, so the two differ in where they run and in their license.
