Keep Inventory
by Itamio
Keep Inventory keeps a world's keepInventory gamerule set to true, so players leave their items on death whenever the gamerule would otherwise be turned off.
What it does
The mod enforces keepInventory always true. It sets the gamerule when a world loads, and it checks again every 20 ticks. If the gamerule is changed to false, the mod switches it back to true within about one second. Because of this, even a player with admin rights who runs the command to set keepInventory to false sees the value reverted.
The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing anything and only the server needs it. It targets Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with builds for 1.8.9 – 26.1.2 covering 35 release versions, and the latest files are 1.0.0 for 26.1.2. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the project has public links to its source, issue tracker and wiki.
Key features
Enforced keepInventory
The keepInventory gamerule is held at true, so items are not lost when a player dies.
Load-time setup
The gamerule is set to true as soon as the world loads, before any player can die in it.
Periodic verification
A check runs every 20 ticks to confirm the gamerule still reads true.
Automatic correction
If the gamerule is set to false, the mod restores true within about one second.

Use cases
Hardcore-free servers
Server owners who want a world where death never costs items can run the mod to keep the gamerule fixed.
Shared worlds
On a multiplayer server, the setting holds even when a manual gamerule command is run by an admin.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want item retention on death for every player, and players on servers that want the rule enforced without relying on manual gamerule settings.
