JATiCA

by BlueSheep2804

JATiCA connects JAOPCA-generated materials to Tinkers' Construct on Forge 1.20.1, so new metals can be used for tools and parts without writing recipes by hand.

What it does

Once JAOPCA and Tinkers' Construct are installed next to JATiCA, the materials that JAOPCA produces are registered in Tinkers' Construct and can be used in its tool and part recipes. The mod is a bridge: it adds no material of its own, and its job is to make the JAOPCA material set visible to Tinkers' Construct after a launch.

JATiCA is required on both sides, so the server and every player need it. Its listed dependencies are JAOPCA and Tinkers' Construct, and both must be present for it to work. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with public source code and an issue tracker. Its only published file is 1.0.0 for 1.20.1, dated 2025-11-05, the same day the mod was first published and last updated.

Key features

  1. JAOPCA material registration

Materials generated by JAOPCA are added to Tinkers' Construct, so they appear among its material options.

  2. Molten block support

Molten blocks and other related blocks for the added materials are included, in line with the materials themselves.

  3. Display names from JAOPCA

Material names shown in Tinkers' Construct can be changed through JAOPCA language keys in the form jaopca.material.<name>.

  4. Restart after changes

New or changed materials take effect after Minecraft is restarted, so the game has to be relaunched after installing or editing them.

How it compares

Full comparison

Tinker Material Table is client-side only and open source under the MIT License, with Forge files for 1.20.1, so it runs on a client alone and does not change what the server registers. Tinkers' Create Diving Modifiers is client and server and open source under the MIT License, but it adds modifiers rather than linking material sets to the crafting system. JATiCA is client and server and open source under the MIT License, and it is the mod that brings material sets into the crafting system.

Questions

Does JATiCA need JAOPCA and Tinkers' Construct?

Yes. Both JAOPCA and Tinkers' Construct are required dependencies, and JATiCA does nothing without them. Install all three together on Forge 1.20.1.

Does JATiCA have to be installed on the server?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Materials are registered on both sides, so a client-only install is not enough.

Why are new materials not showing up after installing?

Materials added or changed through JAOPCA are picked up when Minecraft starts. Restart the game after installing JATiCA or editing material names, then check the material list in the crafting interface.
