Tinkers' Construct

by KnightMiner

Tinkers' Construct is a modular tool mod in which players build tools from parts, modify them at workstations, and melt metals in a smeltery.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.6.4 – 1.20.1

What it does

Part builders, tinker stations and modifier workstations let players assemble tools from separate parts and add modifiers to them afterward. Melting and casting happen through the melter, alloyer, smeltery and foundry, which turn ores and materials into molten metal for tool parts. Slime islands appear in three dimensions and provide four slime colors, while slimy geodes appear deep underground and cobalt ore is found in the nether.

The mod requires Mantle, a library from the SlimeKnights project, and Just Enough Items is an optional recipe viewer that the author recommends. Tinkers' Construct runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Builds are published for Forge and NeoForge across seven release versions, 1.6.4 – 1.20.1, and the code is open source under the MIT License. The newest file is 3.12.1.231 for 1.20.1, a beta release.

Key features

  1. Part builders

Part builders create the separate pieces, such as heads, handles and binding, that make up a tool.

  2. Tinker stations

Tinker stations assemble parts into finished tools and let players rename or inspect them.

  3. Modifier workstations

Modifier workstations add or swap modifiers on existing tools without rebuilding them from scratch.

  4. Smeltery and foundry

The melter, alloyer, smeltery and foundry handle molten metals for casting tool parts and other items.

  5. Slime islands

Slime islands appear in three dimensions, and each one gives access to a slime color.
