inv-save
inv-save keeps a player's items after death, and the set kept is controlled by three game rules that can be changed in the world.
What it does
When a player dies, the mod keeps a set of inventory slots instead of dropping everything. By default the first four hotbar slots are kept along with the armor, and the offhand slot is kept as well. The number of kept slots is set by the invsave amount rule, and the offhand is covered by the invsave offhand rule, so either can be changed without editing files.
The mod is a small single-purpose addition with three commands, which handle the game rules that control what is saved. It is enabled by default and takes effect in new worlds through a world creation game rule. Changes to the rules can be applied to a world that is already running, and cheats must be turned on for the commands to run.
inv-save is client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is published for Fabric only, for Minecraft 1.20.1, and the code is licensed under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Fabric API is not named as a requirement in the files for this version.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who want a configurable inventory-keeping rule on Fabric 1.20.1, without a separate config file.
