Immersive Tools
by 8BitHorizon
Immersive Tools lets players upgrade vanilla tools, weapons and armor through a tiered Perk System instead of crafting replacements.
What it does
Players craft Perk Gems such as the Lightweight Gem and the Void Gem, then hold a gem in the off-hand while holding a tool in the main hand and right-click to apply a Tier 1 Perk permanently. Perks evolve across five tiers: a Refined Essence advances a Tier 1 Perk to Tier 2, and a Pure Essence, a Legendary Essence and finally a Divine Essence follow for Tier 5. Each step is made by holding the upgraded item with the matching essence in the off-hand and right-clicking.
The mod is described by its author as an end-game expansion for long-term survival worlds. Higher tiers depend on master dimension materials, with upgrades needing items from Nether Stars and End City loot. The initial release includes three essential Perks. Immersive Tools is a Forge mod for 1.16.5 only, client-side only, and released under the Apache License 2.0 as a closed project.

Use cases
Long-term survival
Players keep the same gear and improve it over a long world instead of crafting new items at each stage.
End-game progression
Upper tiers need materials gathered from the Nether Stars and End City loot, which suits late game play.
Who it’s for: Players who want to strengthen existing equipment through several stages of progression in a survival world. The mod adds content on the client side only, so servers do not need to run it.
