Idle Alive
by escmoon1
While a player stands still, Idle Alive plays subtle idle animations on the character, and any movement or action stops them at once.
What it does
After a configurable period of inactivity, the mod chooses one random animation from the enabled animation pool and plays it on the player model. The idle delay can be set in the options, and the built-in animation selection controls which animations belong to the pool.
Idle Alive supports custom external animations, so animation packs beyond the built-in set can be added to the pool. It requires Fabric API and Player Animation Library. Cloth Config API and Mod Menu are optional and add a settings screen. Idle Alive is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.11 only, published under the MIT License. The code is not open source, and it runs on the client alone, so servers need nothing installed.
Key features
Random idle animations
Once the player has been inactive for the set period, an animation is picked at random from the enabled pool.
Configurable idle delay
The time that must pass before an idle animation starts can be changed to suit how the player plays.
Built-in animation selection
Each animation in the built-in set can be switched on or off, so only the chosen ones take part in the random pick.
Immediate interruption
Any movement or action ends the current idle animation at once, so the character responds to input without delay.

Use cases
Idle characters in screenshots
A player who leaves the character standing still while taking screenshots or recording can get varied poses without touching the controls.
Roleplay and showcase play
Players who want a character that looks alive between actions can keep idle motion running during roleplay or model showcases.
Who it’s for: Players who want their character to move while standing still, and players who use animation packs of their own.
