Horse Armor Stand updated
by Mest
Horse Armor Stand, an updated Fabric build, gives horses a placeable armor stand that displays their favorite horse armor, much like the classic armor stand does for players.
What it does
The mod adds a stand that shows horse armor in the same way the vanilla armor stand shows gear, so a favorite armor can stay on display without a horse standing beside it. It targets the new horse armor introduced in Minecraft 1.21.11, and the author notes that more updates are planned.
The mod is a Fabric build for 1.21.11 only, released under the MIT License. It is not open source. Fabric API and Geckolib are required and must be installed alongside it. Client and server both need the mod, so the server and every player must run it. Its issue tracker is public for reports and requests from other players.
The original idea and the early horse armor mod came from HyeroDrimm, whose preview image is kept as a reference for the first version. Work on this update is by Mest, and the mod was first published and last updated on 2026-02-06. Obtaining the stand is described in the author notes as a simple crafting recipe.
Key features
Horse armor display
The stand shows a horse's armor on a model that looks like the vanilla armor stand.
Support for new horse armor
The update adds the horse armor types introduced in 1.21.11, so newer armors can be placed on the stand.
Vanilla-style look
The stand keeps a plain vanilla look rather than a heavier custom model, which suits builds that mix with normal decorations.
Crafted stand
The stand is obtained by crafting, so it can be built in survival worlds without commands.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Players and builders on Fabric 1.21.11 who want horse armor shown on a stand, and server owners who can run it with Fabric API and Geckolib installed on every side.
How it compares
Wolf Armor Stand is a Fabric mod for 1.21.1 that is client and server and open source under the MIT License, so it covers wolves rather than horses. Copper Equipments is also a Fabric mod for 1.21.1, open source under the MIT License, with client and server support. Craftable Horse Armor is a server-side mod for 1.20 – 1.21.1, usable on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and it is not open source.
