Hammers by Juix
by Juix
Hammers by Juix is a datapack that turns pickaxes into tools able to break a 3x3 area at once, for servers and players who want wider digging.
What it does
Pickaxes break a three-by-three area per action. The datapack works through item drop coordinates, so it relies on those coordinates to break extra blocks, and it is recommended to use it in Creative mode when testing. Hammers are crafted in a way described by the author, and a quick message is shown when the feature is active.
The mod is distributed for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and is also available as a data pack. The server must run it, while players may leave it out. Files cover 1.18 – 26.3 with 30 release versions, and the latest file is 1.5b for 26.3, published 2026-10-14. The mod is released under CC0 1.0 Universal and is not open source.
Key features
Three-by-three mining
Pickaxes break a 3x3 area of blocks instead of a single block, which changes how quickly larger areas are cleared.
Item drop coordinates
Extra blocks are broken through item drop coordinates, so Magnet mods can interfere with the result and should be checked.
Custom textures option
A resource pack is needed to show the hammer textures, and Juix Resources v1.3 or later can enable the custom textures for the datapack version.
Hammer crafting
Hammers are crafted with a recipe described by the author, and a quick message appears to confirm the active mode.

Use cases
Clearing large areas
Players who dig stone, dirt or ore across wide floors can break a three-by-three area per swing instead of one block at a time.
Server use
Server owners can add the datapack to a world and keep players on the vanilla client, since the client part is optional.
Who it’s for: Players and server owners who want pickaxes that dig wider areas through a datapack. The author notes that versions 1.18.x and 1.21.4 are outdated and recommends using a current build.
How it compares
Advanced Amethyst is a Fabric, Forge and NeoForge mod for 1.17.1 – 1.21.8 that requires both the client and the server, and is released under the MIT License. Hammer Enchantment is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, covers 1.21 – 26.3 on four loaders and is server required with the client optional, like Hammers by Juix.
