Gravestone Carryables

by imbavirus

Gravestone Carryables returns equipment to where it was when a player dies, working alongside the GraveStone mod on NeoForge for 1.21.1.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1

What it does

When a player dies, GraveStone collects the inventory into a grave. This mod adds a step to the restore: Curios and Accessories items, including armor, rings, belts, charms and cosmetics, go back to their original slots when the player respawns and picks the grave up. Vanilla hotbar, armor and offhand slots are returned to the same indices they occupied before death. Full item data is kept, so enchantments, custom components and the contents of backpacks such as Sophisticated Backpacks modules survive the trip.

Equipment is restored only from the optional APIs present on the server, and items on the blacklist are never restored automatically. Works with GraveStone's break grave and pickup options enabled, which the author recommends. Gravestone Carryables requires BaguetteLib and the GraveStone Mod, and its source is published under the MIT License. Files exist for NeoForge 1.21.1 only, with 1.0.0 as the latest build, published 2026-07-29. Only the server and every player need the mod, because the environment is client and server.

Key features

  1. Curios and Accessories restore

Curios and Accessories equipment is put back into its original slots after respawn, including gloves, rings, capes and charms.

  2. Vanilla slot restore

Hotbar, armor and offhand items return to the same indices they held before the player died.

  3. Full item data

Enchantments, custom components and backpack contents are kept with each item during the restore.

  4. Blacklist

Items on the blacklist are never restored automatically, so server owners can exclude equipment they prefer to keep out of graves.

What the author says

Gravestone Carryables makes Max Henkel’s GraveStone put your equipment back where it was — not just dump everything into your inventory. Curios — rings, belt, charm, hands, back, cosmetics, etc.
