Fairy Lighting

by imbavirus

Fairy Lighting lets players hang customizable string lights, garlands, bunting and pennants across a world, as a NeoForge port for Minecraft 1.21.1.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1

What it does

Light strings are built from a chosen shape such as fairy lights, paper lanterns, orbs or flowers, with holiday shapes included. Connection types like tinsel, vine, pennant, bunting and letter bunting join the lights, and different lights can be combined on one string to form patterns of the player's own design. Ropes and strings sway gently when players move near them, so the lighting reads as part of the scene rather than static blocks.

The mod is a port of the original Fairy Lights, forked from the work of pau101 and carried to NeoForge by imbavirus. It is open source under the MIT License and is published only for NeoForge, with files for 1.21.1. Fairy Lighting runs on the client and the server, so both sides need it. It has no required dependencies, and its source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

Custom text can be written on bunting and hung on walls as a message or a sign.

  4. Custom string patterns

A crafting system lets players mix light types and colors on a single string to build their own designs.
