Generic Enchants adds enchantments to the game that work through a single generic enchant entry, with effects such as lightning, frost, levitation and wither.

What it does

Each enchantment in the mod has its own effect. A lightning enchantment strikes the target with lightning, a frost enchantment freezes a target standing in powder snow, and a levitation enchantment lifts the target into the air. A wither enchantment applies the wither effect, and a tornado enchantment has a chance to summon a tornado ten blocks behind the target. Enchantments can also chain: a through enchantment extends the reach of another one.

The enchantments are added through a generic enchant entry, so they can be obtained the same way as vanilla enchantments. The mod is also distributed as a data pack, which brings the vanilla gameplay of the enchantments onto servers that prefer data packs to mods. Server owners who want the mod on their world need it running on the server; clients can join without installing anything.

Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with the latest 1.0 build for 26.2 dated 2026-02-04 on the beta channel. Builds cover seven release versions 1.21.9 – 26.2, and the mod is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
